Sadly the school district was uncooperative by not allowing rescuers on the property to save the rabbits. They required a one million dollar liability insurance policy and threw up one road block after another. There pride got in the way of allowing innocent rabbits from being rescued. Rescue groups were able to save 50 rabbits that had dug under the fence and were hiding under mobile classrooms. Finally the beginning of August 2009 rescuers were allowed on the property to capture the remaining rabbits. See next photo
