The Friends Of Unwanted Rabbits (FUR) is run by volunteers who rescue rabbits from the Sacramento County Animal Care & Regulation. FUR is supported by the non-profit affiliate of Sacramento County Animal Care & Regulation, Teaching Everyone Animals Matter (TEAM). All rabbits are spayed/neutered, litter box trained, and socialized before being housed at Petsmart Adoption Centers. Rabbits are adopted to carefully screened indoor homes by FUR volunteers.

Rabbits in foster care are also available for adoption, unless otherwise noted.

MESSAGING: When calling our message line please speak your name and phone number slowly & repeat it. You can expect a response within 48 hours but please be patient as we are volunteers. NOTE: When using a cell phone inside of Petsmart to call our message line often the phone cuts out so we are not able to understand phone numbers or names. Please go outside to make your calls. Also ADULTS ONLY should call. Often when a child calls it is difficult to understand the phone number or the child simply forgets to leave the phone number. This is a message line only. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! Foster homes are needed to provide temporary housing for rabbits rescued from the shelter. Save a rabbit's life -become a foster! If you are interested in volunteering please call 916-710-0105 and leave a message.
The shelter is often full with rabbits. If you have an unwanted rabbit we will place a picture along with a description on our website under our Private Party Adoptable Album to bring more exposure that you need to find a new home for your rabbit. Email the information to teamfur@gmail.com.

1 This is Digby and Tallie. They run free in the house, and are completely litter box trained. The smaller one is Tallie, who is a 3-4 pound Polish Dwarf and she's been spayed. Digby is the larger Harlequin mix with the cutest floppy ear and he has been neutered. They have wonderful temperaments and are completely bonded to each other. These darling rabbits are in need of a home quickly. Due to unfortunate circumstances the previous owner wasn't able to keep these two sweet bunnies. They are in need of a home together ASAP! Won't you open up your heart and home ?
2 Tallie is a darling dwarf rabbit. She weighs only 3 pounds!
3 Tallie and Digby are best bunny friends.
4 They like to cuddle and groom each other.
5 Oddball is a very hilarious black and white rabbit who has recovered from a broken elbow.
Oddball is at the Pestmart on Iron Point in Folsom.

6 Oddball is a larger neutered male black and white rabbit who loves to explore.
The foster reports many escapades where Oddball leaps around the room, ending in a dramatic flop to contemplate his latest adventure.
7 Oddball needs much interaction and would enjoy being part of an active household.
8 Meet Brody, aka Brodalicious. He and his brother Buster were born at the Sacramento County Shelter. This is a picture of Brody when he was about four months old.

25 Starbright is friendly, playful, and curious.
She seems to like dogs and loves sniffing at them through the exercise pen.

27 Meet Bear, a larger, handsome, male, neutered, agouti rabbit with an athletic build. He's an outdoorsy type, looking for his forever friend.
Bear is in foster care and is available for adoption.

28 Bear will follow you around the house and tug at your pant leg when he wants attention.
29 Bear has really flourished in foster care with FUR and is very playful and inquisitive.
Out of the blue he will treat you to a show of binkies!!

31 Bandit came into the shelter on July 31 and was a little scared so I did not want to take him out of the cage for a photo shoot. He has since warmed up and is very friendly. His right ear is dappled with brown.
He was rescued by FUR in October and we named him Bandit. He is currently in foster care and is available for adoption.

32 Bandit was recently neutered and one of our fosters took him home for his recovery. She did not want to bring him back!!!
Bandit is such a sweet rabbit. He is very calm and seeks out attention.
33 He liked the foster's great big dog.
His fur is very soft and he has great markings. His ears are amazing!
34 Like many rabbits, Bandit loves shoes.
35 This is Pasquale, a young, male, neutered Silver Martin.

36 Pasquale seems to love all things Italian, perhaps feels like he came from Italy. (He was really rescued from the Sacramento County Animal Shelter.)
37 Pasquale has the handsome markings of a Silver Martin which is black with a framing of white fur.
He also has a caramel colored spot behind his ears. He is quite striking!
38 Pasquale's looks are only surpassed by his wonderful personality. He is very sweet and loves to sit next to you to be petted.

41 This is Buster, a VERY friendly male, neutered, Califormina, about seven months old.
Notice is handsome dark markings which includes dark ears, nose, tips of paws, and tail.
Buster is VERY affectionate and loves to lick your hand.

42 This is Hopscotch, a spayed female, young, black and white rabbit recently rescued from the Sacramento County Animal Shelter where she was at risk for being euthanized.

43 Hopscotch has beautiful black and white markings. Even though she is young, there seems to be a certain calmness about her.
44 However, Hopscotch still knows how to PLAY!!! She is very entertaining to watch as she explores and tosses around her toys.
45 Hopscotch seems to be a very easy going rabbit and gets along with everyone.

47 Bethany is an adorable female bunny, born around the end of February, 2013. She loves to play and is a curious little girl.
Bethany is currently in foster care and will be available for adoption the beginning of June after she has been spayed.

51 Irish is playful, neutered male rabbit. He is an older rabbit. He is very sweet and cuddly.

54 Here are April and May, enjoying a beautiful spring day.
April and May are bonded so they need to be adopted together.
55 This is April, a brown female lop mix rabbit born about late February or early March. She was part of the Rubbermaid Rabbit rescue.
A pedestrian in Elk Grove noticed a Rubbermaid bin, opened it, and found 20+ baby rabbits. They were dehydrated and filthy but all survived.
April is currently in foster care and is available for adoption.

58 Meet Logan and Lucy, a bonded set of rabbits seeking their forever home.
Their owner developed a severe allergy so she had to give them to a friend to foster until they find new homes.
59 Logan is the white neutered male and Lucy is the brownish spayed female.
Logan is the "meet and greet" guy of the pair and is quite sociable. He loves to lick people. He is quite curious and entertaining.
60 Lucy is more reserved. She did not get much socialization during her first year and is slow to warm to people and other animals. However, once she develops trust she is very sweet.
61 Lucy tends to defer to Logan. They are a very sweet pair and need to be adopted together.
62 Tommy V and Alfred are brothers. They would love to be adopted together!
63 Tommy V is a real sweetie. He is quite the snuggle bunny. He was found wandering the neighborhood with his brother Alfred. He can be adopted alone or with his brother.

64 Alfred is a darling bunny. He is approximately 3 months old. He was found wandering the neighborhood with his brother Tommy V. Alfred can be adopted alone or with his brother.

Lolly Sugarpants was dropped off at Petsmart and is estimated to be around 8 weeks old. She is thin but has HUGE ears.

66 She was brought in with another baby (Petunia) but they do not appear to be siblings. They are very snuggly together.
Sugarpants is a very friendly, curious rabbit.

Petunia was dropped off at Petsmart with Sugarpants. Petunia is estimated to be around 5 weeks old.

75 We have three more rabbits who were recently rescued from the Sacramento County Animal Shelter.
Mama bunny is in distress and is being given some well deserved rest and relaxation.
With her came two baby bunnies estimated to be around 8 weeks old. One is grey and white spotted and the other is caramel and white spotted.
