Jerimiah Willis was my great grandfather. Could anyone tell me if he is buried at the Daniel Willis cemetery. I heard he was buried at Kimball. I have been there and if he was, it had to be unmarked. If I can find where he and Arminda are buried, it may help me to find where my grandmother, Irene Willis (Moore)is buried. - Jackie Rowe, Sun, 4 May 2008 5:38PM

My great grandfather was Benjamin Warren Willis, brother to George T. Willis. George and MaryJane's children are buried here in this cemetary. I noticed it was written that you could not make the connection to this George Willis. Benjamin's parents were Jeremiah Willis and Malinda Warren Willis. My mother has been researching my fathers line for many years and we now belive that Jeremiah and Daniel were brothers and that because Jeremiah would have been the oldest son he is never listed on any census records. We have the whole line as far back as Benjamin I. It makes sense that they would all have sons named Jeremiah. And it also makes sense now why George's children would be buried in his uncle's cemetary. - Janet W. Williams (Willis), Sun, 26 Aug 2007 8:38PM

Nice photos, one note on number 16 for ophelia (willis) McGinnis, this should be McINNIS. She was my grandmother married to Neil Watson McInnis. Lowell Thomas McDaniel ======================= From Kathy Fowler: I'll add a note to the entry, but I wrote the caption to match the headstone--which says McGinnis. - Lowell T. Do you know where the following couple and family are buried? Sarah Willis B 1816 GA Daughter of Benjamin Willis & Blansett Margaret "Peggy" Morrison Sarah Married: Richard Story B 1816 Pulaski County, GA D 1841 Deep Creek near Amboy, Irwin County, GA ========================================== Reply from Kathy Fowler: Sorry, I don't know where either is buried. I've wondered, sometimes, if perhaps Sarah (Willis) Story was the daughter killed when Blansett was killed. Especially since there are tales that Blansett's husband for a time suspected his son-in-law of having killed the women, casting blame on the Indians. These stories never mention which son-in-law he suspected, but say that some of the family's belongings were found in an Indian camp on a later date. Since the whole Indian incident appears to have been prompted by Sam Story administering a beating to an Indian, it makes a certain logical sense if Sarah Willis Story was one of the victims. But I have no evidence for this...just sheer speculation. - Glenda Sue Wilson Vize, Fri, 5 May 2006 8:23PM
