Sasha is a true LGD - at only 5 months old she was in the paddocks with the alpacas when our last cria of 2007 arrived two weeks early, while I was away from the farm for 45 minutes picking up my boys from school. I came home to a healthy and happy cria, a relaxed and happy alpaca mom, and a very proud Miss Sasha!
Sasha has a sweet, silly, side when she plays with her humans and her Rat Terrier buddies, and a very serious side when it comes to protecting her alpacas. She is completely trustworthy in or out of the paddocks. She would be equally happy living the good life indoors, protecting a human family flock, as she is outdoors, overseeing her alpacas.

Kasey's Album Our first Anatolian Shepherd is Lost Armadillo's Kasey, who arrived at the Ranch along with the Alpacas on March 13, 2007. Kasey was bred by Kim Gray and is the epitomy of the Perfect Anatolian. Thanks, Kim, for letting Kasey come guard our alpacas and be our friend!
The Anatolian Shepherd is a livestock guardian breed from Turkey, where these smart and independent dogs are relied upon to guard the free-ranging flocks during the day, then come home with their charges and guard them throughout the night in their home paddocks.
Kasey's Mom is Lost Armadillo's Maskeli, from Lost Armadillo Ranch in Davis Creek, CA, and her Dad is a Turkish-born Anatolian (Gandalf, visiting at Shepards's Rest) here in the United States only briefly.
Kasey guards our Alpacas and our Ranch. Kasey is sweet on and off the ranch, calm, observant, and loves her alpacas. Our last cria of 2007 arrived 2 weeks early, and Kasey was in the paddock during the birth, while I was away from the farm. Baby was happy and healthy when I got home, mommy alpaca was relaxed, and Kasey was very proud of herself and her alpacas. What a good girl!
