Graziella Laffi, Peruvian Silver + More
I have been an avid collector of vintage pieces for close to thirty years. My main interests are Latin/South American jewelry and decorative objects, produced in the early- to mid-20th-century. These include handwrought works from Peru [most especially those by Graziella Laffi and Chavez], Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, and Brazil. You are most welcome to browse the gallery albums I have put together and see some of the works that I have collected over the years.

These albums are always evolving, as I frequently add new finds. If you would like to purchase pieces such as these—as well as other vintage collectibles—you can contact me directly at: vtgadvantage@aol.com. Or visit my online shops, TheVintageAdvantage on Ruby Lane and/or Advantage Yours on Etsy, where you can find my latest offerings [just click on the links at the bottom of the page].

Enjoy your time here and thanks so much for your interest—and please sign my guestbooks at the bottom of each album...I would love to know what you think!

[Please note that I am a little behind on my descriptive captions for the various photos. I will be updating these newest additions to the albums, as time permits. Any questions, just contact me.]

GRAZIELLA LAFFI VINTAGE PERUVIAN JEWELRY
1. GRAZIELLA LAFFI VINTAGE PERUVIAN JEWELRY
“The Spratling of Peru”… Florentine-born, Graziella Laffi lived and worked in Lima, Peru, producing singular silver and gold jewelry, as well as holloware, in Pre-Columbian {often Pre-Inca}, folkloric, and modernist motifs. Most aficionados believe that her creations rival the classic pieces that came out of Mexico. With Ms. Laffi's passing in 2009, her works—among today's hottest collectibles in the field—are becoming less easy to find and even more desirable.

Here is a gallery of my Graziella Laffi collection, some of which is currently for sale. I am always adding to the album, as I find more Laffi. If you would like to purchase pieces such as these—as well as other vintage collectibles—you can contact me directly at: vtgadvantage@aol.com. G. LAFFI INSPIRED VINTAGE PERUVIAN WORKS
2. G. LAFFI INSPIRED VINTAGE PERUVIAN WORKS
Here is my collection of vintage jewelry and decorative objects whose designs, materials, and construction are all characteristic of works produced by mid-century modernist Graziella Laffi, “The Spratling of Peru.” However, it should be noted that most of the motifs employed by Laffi were not original, but based on existing Pre-Inca and Inca imagery, discovered at archaeological sites. It was how she adapted these ancient icons to her particular idiosyncratic vision and technical talents that made her pieces so unique. There were many other highly skilled and creative Peruvian artists who turned to the same Pre-Columbian images for their pieces—pieces that at first glance may appear merely as Laffi copies, but are in fact superbly crafted and imaginative works in their own right. And they should be appreciated as such. You will find examples of such artists and their works in this album.

I am always adding to the album, as I find more of these works. 4. OTHER SOUTH AMERICAN JEWELRY + OBJECTS
Apart from Peru’s rich contribution of jewelry and objets d’art, several other countries of Latin America/South America/Central America also produced splendid works during the early- to mid-20th-century. Here is a sampling from my collection of such pieces, handmade by artists in Ecuador, Guatemala, Colombia, Chile, and Brazil, among other nations.

I am always adding to the album, as I find more vintage South American works.
