Mississippi Farmland
This album shows the sad plight of farmers in MS. Due to excessive rain this fall, farmers have not been able to harvest their crops.  MS is a leading producer of sweet potatoes and 75% of the crop was lost this year.  Many soybean fields are lost due to mold from the wet conditions.  Cotton is in better shape but some will fall out of the bolls unless it is picked soon.  I have photos of cotton, soybean and sweet potato fields and some abandoned buildings in Calhoun County MS and from Vardaman, MS, the "Sweet Potato Capitol" of the US where there was very little processing this year and many stacks of empty crates.

Interesting pictures.  The poor farmers--ever dependent on mother nature!

So sad about the loss of the crops :(
This is a wonderful step back into history though, with the old buildings.
