What USED to be the USFS 'Jarbidge Campground' is now a PRIVATELY OWNED campground for ALL THE PUBLIC TO ENJOY! The USFS wasn't too keen on getting kicked out!!

Enlarge photo 4

This is a little scary!! Russ' truck has grown an emblem!! If it isn't a figment of the imagination..I hope it dis-appears before we go on the trail ride!!

Enlarge photo 5

Enlarge photo 117
117

Enlarge photo 118
118
most of the time it's just BS!

Enlarge photo 119
119
O.Q. chris Johnson is filling us in on the latest events regarding the fight to keep our public lands OPEN to the PUBLIC!

Enlarge photo 120
120
The next day we head to the end of the famous 'South Canyon Road' Where I was charged with violating USFS regulations in 2003 but I prevailed in US Federal Court, and the Magistrate advised me that I could travel the road 'at any time and as often as I wish" because it is an OPEN ELKO COUNTY ROAD! Here O.Q. 'Chris' Johnson Of the Blue Ribbon Coalition and the Jarbidge Shovel Brigade fords the first creek crossing on the road! We ended up leaving his truck a little farter up the road as it is still quite a rough trip and his 4x4 was not engaging properly..but..at least it's a Dodge!

Enlarge photo 121
121
Chris has her in pretty deep and is now stuck on a submerged rock!

Enlarge photo 122
122
He's almost through but is hung up..

Enlarge photo 123
123
So Steve is going to pull him back and then go ahead of him in order to help him through!

Enlarge photo 132
132

Enlarge photo 133
133

Enlarge photo 138
138
right on through..

Enlarge photo 141
141
There goes Digger and Bo!

Enlarge photo 148
148
Steve is on a roll!

Enlarge photo 149
149
Steve, Digger, and I were the only ones to take our trucks all the way in! Niall still has a bad taste in his mouth from the 2003 trip when he broke his tailights, muffler and an axle on his M37, and Russ' truck is way toooo pretty for this roughhousing!!

Enlarge photo 150
150
Steve heads around the bend to the end of the road..

Enlarge photo 151
151
The outhouse is LOCKED UP! No longer available for public use..thanks to our friends at the USFS!

155
Meanwhile, a few go around back to open the vault and see how full it is this year..

Enlarge photo 156
156
Dutchess is guarding the outhouse so no one will attempt entry! (Plus she loves the shade break!)

Enlarge photo 157
157
In the vault...looking for 'browns'!

Enlarge photo 158
158
Only an inch or so of run-off water...no 'browns' in sight!

Enlarge photo 169
169
On the way back to Wendell on Friday afternoon..I lead the group with the trusty old B3PW with my 'camp' trailer..

Enlarge photo 170
170
Niall and the squad are behind me with his Diesel powered M37 and trailer...then Rick Sultan is taking up the rear..

Enlarge photo 171
171

Enlarge photo 192
192
Russ (Probably Denise) Took these shots of the Salmon Dam along the road to Jarbidge, near Rogerson, Idaho.

Enlarge photo 193
193
It is a very old concrete arch dam..built around 1910!

Enlarge photo 194
194
It's about 350 feet tall and only 250 feet wide!

Enlarge photo 195
195
