"Wonderful example of an ammonite from Alberta Canada. These ancestors of the modern day nautilus lived in the Cretaceous inland seas of North America 100-65 million years ago. "Ammolite" is the official gemstone of Alberta and can be mined in southern Alberta, Roberta in Alberta" --Roberta Peach, 02/20/07
