Texas Trail
Please help me welcome the 5 members of the Texas Trail Litter.  They didn't burn any daylight when they were born early on September 5, 2009!

Eight Weeks
1. Eight Weeks  (October 31, 2009)
Has it really been 8 whole weeks?  The time has just flown with this fun bunch of Trailers!

Between seven and eight weeks, these puppers got to go to their first dog show, and MAN did they have a great time being cuddled and socialized.  They are all on raw chicken necks now, and eat with plenty of gusto.  They also love to haul my kitchen and bathroom rugs around the house - who knew that something that small could take on a task that big!

They are also escape artists - I have to make sure that their x-pen is securely closed at night or else I hear the pitter-patter of happy puppy feet coming into the bedroom - stinkers!  :-)

They have also become part of the pack, and are learning good doggie social skills.

You might note that I am missing a puppy!  Well, Miss Drive, now Miss Caroline, went to Utah last week when her mama was out in Colorado showing dogs.  I am very proud that she is now part of Blazing Sun.

Six Weeks Playtime!
2. Six Weeks Playtime!  (October 17, 2009)
The little Texas Trailers made their first trip into the Wyoming Wilderness today!  They chewed on all kinds of different plants, ate rabbit poop, and tasted several different varieties of rocks.

The best part?  When I took them back inside and they all got a drink of water and then passed out in their kennel!

Five Weeks
3. Five Weeks  (October 11, 2009)
The pack o' puppies turned five weeks old!  They are doing great - eating lots of homemade food, frolicking, and tearing up newspapers!  They love to play with toys and be cuddled (well, when you can get them to hold still!).

Week Four
4. Week Four  (October 4, 2009)
The Texas Trail puppies are now 4 weeks old!  They are all F-A-T!!!  We had a hard time getting pictures this week, as they all wanted nothing to do with the cheese or the table - they all wanted to eat, play and tear up newspaper.

Two Weeks Old
5. Two Weeks Old  (September 20, 2009)
The five Texas Trail puppies are growing like weeds!  Mama Boogie keeps these little buggers well fed.

All of their eyes are open, and the poor little ones weren't happy with my flash camera. I can definately see some personality coming out this week, as some of the puppies are quiet and enjoy being handled, and I have a few that are not shy about voicing their displeasure!

Week One
6. Week One  (September 13, 2009)
The fabulous five are still doing, well, fabulous!

I am very impressed with the consistency of the size and quality of all of these puppies.

This week they started the Biosensor Super Dog program, got their nails cut for the first time, and have been doing great!  They are all very noisy and active - something that I love to see!

Mama Boogie is doing fantastic!  She keeps these babies spotless and well fed - all of the puppies weighed in at over a pound!

Day One
7. Day One  (September 5, 2009)
Mama Boogie and all her babies are doing fabulous!  I have to tell you, this is the easiest litter I have every whelped - mostly because Boogie didn't ask for my help!  She whelped these 5 beautiful puppies in between me checking on her every 2 hours.  She didn't make a sound - she just did her business and then there they all were!

So I have 3 beautiful girls and 2 handsome boys.

8. Texas Trail Litter
We're proud to announce the Texas Trail Litter, a joint venture between Hurricane Deck and Bur-Way Stars.  This litter is due on or about September 9th.  The dam, Miss Boogie, will be coming here to Wyoming to have her babies, and will be staying for a while!

Sire: NBOB GRCH Kisme Turn Who Are You, CHIC #42743
Dam: Sands' Full Tilt Boogie, CHIC #52086

If you are interested in being on the list for one of these pups, email me at hurricanedeckrats@yahoo.com.

Three miles east of Lusk, Wyoming on U.S. Highway 20 stands a marker denoting the location of a branch of the historic Texas Trail. In 1894, some 800,000 head of wild, longhorn cattle from Texas were moved along the trail into the territories of Wyoming and Montana to stock the open ranges. The Texas Trail, in use from 1876 to 1897, entered Wyoming at the city of Pine Bluffs.
