Experimental Series 4 (miscellaneous) | Images from various times and locations, some of them altered in Photoshop in ways I hope will be pleasing. Others are experimental in different ways. Perhaps there will be some that are both at some point. Who's to say? |

Random 1 | Not really experimental. Hard to say whether they're artistic. Just some hard-to-classify images I think might be interesting, starting with some taken 14 May 2008. |

Experimental Series 5 (12 April 2008)Taken at AppleCon 2008, a local Minneapolis convention. "AppleCon is a convention that brings together the best parts of Minneapolis music, science fiction fandom, Wizard (a game of trump), and pie!"
Hmmm. While my intent was to see if anything especially interesting would happen when I took these with no flash in situations that were a little too dark for stable photos with the 100 ASA film I was using (and, in a couple of instances, when the photos were intentionally out of focus), I guess it turned out that most of them were simply fuzzy rather than especially interesting. Of some documentary value, no doubt, but nothing extra special. Except, of course, for that one that hit me while I was doing the color correction on its base image and I had to leave in its "strange" state—I think that oneʼs pretty darned interesting. In any case, itʼs good to experiment.
There is an album in the "conventions" folder which contains the more normal images from that event. |

Experimental Series 3 (20 February 2008)| By the Night of the Moon. A roll taken in Saint Paul, Minnesota. There was a full eclipse of the moon later that night, but this isn't about that. Or not exactly, anyway. |

Experimental Series 2 (2 February 2008)| Harriet Island, Saint Paul, Minnesota at night. Given my new resolve to experiment with out-of-focus and/or shaky images, I'm rather surprised at how much time I spent looking for things to rest or prop my camera upon to steady it. Ah well, some of the shots with movement are interesting, some without are too. They'll come trickling up one by one in the near future. |

Experimental Series 1 (17 January 2008)| I discovered when I got to her house that the tab that holds the back closed on my camera had broken (Nikons used to be sturdier than that!), so I borrowed her digital point-and-shoot and took these. Because of the length of its shutter delay, I decided to try some experiments I'd been thinking about after having read a lovely Taschen book on Kandinsky. |
