About me
I have been involved in the sport of dogs beginning with my participation as a youth in 4-H programs.  My love of animals, especially dogs, has evolved over the years.

My journey into the Rat Terrier world began with our first Rat Terrier back in 1992.  I was surprised to discover that Rat Terriers were not a recognized breed and decided to become involved in the breed acceptance process.  I joined several other breeders in our quest for national breed recognition.  Through this assocation, we developed the first protocol for our breed standard, petioned AKC and UKC for breed rescognition, hosted numerous Fun on the Farm Fun Matches, attended Rare Breed Shows and AKC Fun Matches.

I am the founder, former President and member of the American Rat Terrier Association (UKC National parent club), former Vice President and member of the Rat Terrier Club of America (AKC national parent club), founder, former President and member of the Apple Valley Rat Terrier Club, member of the American Pit Bull Terrier Club of New England, the New England Pullers Association, and the Performance Events Trials and Shows Clubs.

I am  a licensed UKC Event Manager, UKC Field Representative, UKC Terrier Race judge, and a UKC Junior Showmanship judge.  I am currently working to earn my Weight Pull judging license.

Since breeding, handling and raising Rat Terriers in 1992, many of my dogs have earned prestigious top UKC honors such as Top Ten Best of Breed, National Specialty Award of Merits, as well as Grand Champion and Champion conformation titles, Champion titles in Flat and Steeple Terrier Racing, and Champion titles in Weight Pull.

Recently I added the American Hairless Terrier to my personal kennel program.  American Hairless Terriers are a hairless breed developed from the Rat Terrier, first as a variety, and now it’s own separate breed.  This hairless breed allows people who are alergic to dog dander, to own a loving family companion.

We also promote and participate in the UKC Juniors program with my grandchildren, Josh and Chalan.  They are my junior partners known as Pawprintz.

I am a licensed UKC Event Manager (Show Superintendent), Terrier Race Judge and Junior Showmanship Judge.  My business name for superintending and managing shows and events is Pawzatively Canine.

Our dogs have always been examined and cleared for healthy patella’s, hips, cardiac, and temperament, by Stafford Veterinary Clinic. Our dogs are OFA certified at age appropriate.

We breed to improve and better our personal program.  We subscribe to the values of quality before quantity and will not always have puppies available.  We take pride in raising healthy family companions and show prospects with outstanding temperaments. We are very selective as to whom our dogs go to as we want them to be an important part of your family.

Please contact us for more breed information, puppy availability, to add a loving Four Paws companion to your home, or to hire me to manage your next UKC event at: Pawzatively@gmail.com

This is the Teddy Rooselvelt Breed Seminar that Robin and I gave.  At this time, many Rat Terrier owners did not know the differences in the two types and how it affected height ratios, movement, and the dog's overall appearance.
