I was lucky enough to be in boot camp and MOS school with Juana,we were roommates at school and I got so close to here at bootcamp as well. She was a beautiful person and could always make me laugh. We made up names for eachother while we would sing and joke around listening to black eyed peas and tracy Chapman, I called her Jane. Although I was Larson back then i have since married and now my name is Lopez. I think she would laugh knowing the whitest lopez is now me,we couldn't be more oppisite but she had a way of making everyone feel so special. She was a hard worker,we always ran together and we always 1 second apart,Its now my second tour and when i found out about her death last deployment,it almost broke my heart.I knew how it would effect her cherished Family. She would always talk about her mom and try to do everything she could for her.I pray for your family jane,I miss you.

I was the one that was with "Chica" during that unfortunate day treating her. When we first met was when I was introduced to he security team. Right away she stood out from the rest of peers. She was always willing to do the job that no one else would do. For the people that knew her she enriched their lives everyday. I can only imagine how fruitless my words are for the passing of "chica." I'm sorry for you loss.

I am one of those lucky people that had the opportunity to get to know Juana and for that I am grateful.Juana was everything people have said about her and more. Juana was a sweet, caring, very loving person and even though at times she was a shy girl, she was pretty funny. She always talked about her family, particularly about her mother and nephews.Juana will be dearly missed by all of us. My most sincere thoughts and prayers are with all of her family.

This was my best buddy! Where ever I was she followed! She was my student and close friend! I will miss her so much and this hurts to read this! But the type of woman she is described as, is so true and so much more! She was so into her family! family was everything to her. She told me so much about her mom and her family! I wanted to meet them one day because they seem so wonderful! She never wanted to disappoint her mother! When I graduated from college she promised to be there! She kept her promise! She never stopped amazing me with her will to be successful! I told her she can do anything she put her mind to do! She showed us all that was true! When she came to Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center I was the first to greet her and from then on we were buddies! I helped her through the tough times when she was home sick and she always kept me smiling! I will miss her so much! I have always been proud of her! My sympathy goes out to her family and to her mother! She loved you so much!!!! (07/25/06)

Juana was always a special person to me.  Watching her grow up starting here at Empire Elementary, she was always a kind and happy student.  The last time I saw her we hugged, but I didn't know she was being deployed, I wish I could have said more to her.  I will miss seeing her happy smile, she was beautiful.  My condolences to her mom, Maira, Raul and Lorenzo, and family.  Raul and Lorenzo please be careful, my prayers are with you for your safety.
           Sincerely,
