Blue Star Rider "Gordy" Ewell was the recipient of a special Eagle Cane, courtesy of Jack Nitz (Oaklahoma Woodcarvers Association) with some extra special finishing touches by Blue Star Rider founder Richard "Wolf" Hamilton. "Gordy" was severely wounded by roadside bombs in Iraq in 2006, and requires the use of canes and walkers to get around. He is also legally blind and deaf.

"Gordy" checks out his new cane. Though legally blind, he still has some restricted vision in one eye. Although, he said he could be totally blind and still see what an awesome cane it is.
"thumbs-up," what an incredible cane. Jack Nitz made the cane, and "Wolf" added some finishing touches (like the globe and anchor and rank from his Marine uniform over 30 years ago).
This is the top of a special "blindman cane" that was made by Jack Nitz. It will be put to good use. Gordy requires the use of both a support cand and a "blindman cane" to get around when he is by himself.
Thank-you Jack... A special thank-you to Blue Star Rider founder "Wolf" Hamilton as well. Gordy says you will never know how precious a gift the canes are to him. Thank you again.
