We are a small breeder located in the High Desert of Central Oregon. We raise UKC Registered Type A Standards and mini’s. We absolutely love this breed of dog. We fell in love several years ago with the Rat Terrier and had to have one. In 2003 The Lord brought the first two Rat Terriers in our life and it has been a blessing since that very day! We would never be without a Rat Terrier to share our life with.
A little bit about us… Gary and I separate and together spent 40 plus years of our life showing, raising, and training horses. Together we showed Top Quality Paint Horses in Halter and Performance for 13 years. As well as judging open and 4H horse shows and fairs. We decided to retire from the horse show ring in 2000. A short while later came the Rat Terriers! We fell in love with my brothers two Rat Terrier girls and been in love with this breed ever since. From our years of having an eye for structure and conformation in the horse world we went on the search for a Rat Terrier that met the Standard of their breed. The rest is history. In just a short few years we have been blessed with some very awesome dogs. We have only raised 5 litters in total here at Desert High to date Feb. 10, 2007. We are very please to say we have produced some beautiful babies that have gone on to earn GRCH and CH titles, and in 2006 one of our very own babies ended up #5 UKC Top Ten. This beautiful boy did this in just 3 short months of the last of the show season. Needless to say we are very blessed and give this Honor to the Lord. For without Him we would have nothing.
Our Breeding Program… We have a very small program here at Desert High producing one to two litter a year. We take pride in matching the just right dogs with each other. We look for what each dog has to offer the other. While looking at what some have already produced and their pedigree as well. Since 2005 we have crossed a small percent of the Decker Rat Terrier in our breeding program. We have been very blessed to see what these crosses have produced.
Our Puppies… We raise our pups in our home. in fact all our dogs live in our home. Pups are raised with tender loving care from the moment of birth. They all have tails docked and dew claws removed at 2 days old. They are raised in a noisy environment, from the normal house cleaning sounds to CD’s with sounds for their future. They are socialized with adults and children from birth. They get baths and show table time. Before departure at 8 weeks they are taken to our vet for a complete health check and first shot. Wormings are done here by us until they go to their forever homes.
Our Goal… Is to breed Excellent quality dogs for either show or loving laps that meet the requirements of the Rat Terrier UKC breed standard. Emphasising on balance, substance, bone, temperament. We strive to do everything with our Lords help to provide you with a happy, stable, well socialized puppy that is as free as possible from health and hereditary problems.
FUN… We have had much fun showing and meeting some very wonderful people since we began our new life with this awesome breed and UKC. UKC dogs shows are fun for family and a wonderful place to meet new friends. We have learned much and have much more to learn. We can’t thank the wonderful people enough who have made us feel welcomed from the very beginning to now. Every show season is a new adventure and new people with a love for this sweet breed of dog. Thank you! And God Bless You!
All our dogs are Health tested and certified through OFA for Petella Luxation and Cardiac. We also have all our dogs DNA Profiled for YOUR protection.
AKC FSS Status… All of our Dogs are AKC FSS Registered.

Dezi is a White Tan Sable Male. Born June 9th 2003
Dezi is our Foundation male and his Momma's (me) best friend first. I have never been loved so much by a doggie! He is sweet as can be and will lick a stangers hand to say hello.. He adores Mason our Grandson.. And every morning and evening he wakes Mason up, and tucks him in for bed!
We have retired him from the show ring, we believe if it's not fun for the dog, then they shouldn't be there! He didn't love the show ring that much and only did what he did for his Momma... So now he gladly travels with us to all the shows just to be with his family.
Out of His first litters he has produced a GrandChampion/ Premier Winner and many of his babies are well on their way to Championship titles.
Thank you for looking at our Very Handsome Loving Boy...
Dezi earned his Championship Title on December 4, 2004
Dezi came to us from Rat Pack Kennels, Shelly Heist.
