SAN FRANCISCO ON OUR 57TH
Lea and I visited one of our favorite cities for our 57th anniversary, site of our honeymoon in 1952.  We were married at Camp Pendleton just before I reported to the 1st Marine Division in Korea, thus the delay in celebrating our marriage until I returned to San Francisco in August 1952.

The album begins with our entering the Oakland Bay Bridge late on the 5th, and ends with our anniversary dinner November 7th at a favorite old haunt, Alfred's Steak House.

We present this album to our sons, family and friends and acknowledge that their contributions to our past 57 years has been, as the MasterCard ad says, "Priceless!"

View of Lombard & Filmore from motel window.  Marina district has great local flavor, lots of shops, bars and restaurants.  Close to Golden Gate Bridge and only 10 minutes from center of city.

Neat house on road entering Bolinas, a small and almost hidden village.  We got the impression that the residents do not exactly welcome visitors.

Bolinas, sort of a throwback to the hippie era, displays this lighted peace sign on big old barn.

I dubbed this downtown building the Art Center of Bolinas.

The Point Reyes Lighthouse, built in 1870, taken out of service in 1975.  Coast Guard now uses an automated warning light at the point.

I estimated 6 to 8 floors of stairs down to the lighthouse.  After the long walk from the parking lot I opted to shoot from the viewing platform.

Dinner at Fishermans Wharf a must  for us when in the bay city.

Fishermans Wharf is always busy, day and night.

Restaurant signs dot the area, adding light and color.

A very popular tourist stop is the most crooked street in the world, one block of Lombard Street.

We have enjoyed dining at Alioto's since the 1950's, founded the year of my birth by the Alioto family,  and still family owned.

This more modern Matson ship passed by, unusual design and no guess of what the aft portion accommodates.

The cargo kept arriving, from a Pacific Rim region, or China, I would think.
