Images from Iraq provided by 3/1 provides some insight of the unit's physical surroundings, and features the Huntington Beach flag which was provided by the 3/1 Committee of Huntington Beach. The 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines (3/1) was adopted by the city of Huntington Beach early in 2005. 3/1 deployed to Iraq for the unit's third deployment on Labor Day, 2005.
Shortly after first posting this album, I received some additional photos from the Kilo Co. 1st Sergeant, and have decided to keep the album updated with new images as they are received, for so long as the battalion is deployed.

THANKS TO JOHN WINTERSTEEN, HIS PHOTOS OF THE HOMECOMING APPEAR HERE AS THE FINAL 18 IMAGES, LABELED AS THE "Z" SERIES. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO MAKE A FINAL POST OF THE "3/1 IN IRAQ" ALBUM, AND THANKS AGAIN JOHN, A BROTHER MARINE, FOR ALLOWING ME TO POST YOUR PHOTOS.
