CALIFORNIA GOLD & YOSEMITE
While visiting my brother Wayne & wife Jackie in the historical California Gold Rush country, we took advantage of the  many photo opportunities to record our tours of the area and of our one day in Yosemite National Park.

After exiting CA 99 to drive east the views through the windshield were a welcome change.  First flat, followed by mountains and sharp curves. Images 1 through 7.

Thanks for sharing these great photos.  Brings back memories...when in college I went up weekends to work for Yosemite Park & Curry Co. at Glacier Point, Badger Pass and in the Valley too.  Even got to build, light and push the now discontinued firefall from Glacier Point--back when the old GP Hotel still existed.  Truly God's country!  P.S. Did you notice the disconcerting dip in the middle of the Parrott's Ferry bridge?

#46 might be a catalpa tree - any of severl N. Amn. trees of the genus Catalpa having large leaves, whitish flowers and long, slender pods - looks like one of our grade school collections we did with Gretchen once!!! As usual, the album is great - we explored Gold Country during our 5 yrs in Sacramento.
Also loved Yosemite but haven't been there in ages.  nice to see you and your family on these photos we recognized everyone.  MJ

What good memories this brought back. Wonderful photos. We drove the 49 trail in the early 90's & Columbia was one of our stops. What a neat little town. And made Yosemite 2 times. Went to see the Sequoias w/Tom-Tom & Shirl-Girl. Beautiful places to visit. Thanks for the memories.
