1/1 MARINES CAR WASH - AUGUST 2012
1/1 (1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division) visited Newport Beach again for another successful car wash, raising funds which will be used to offset the cost of attendance for the lower enlisted ranks at the Marine Corps Ball in November 2012. Except for a small detachment remaining behind at Camp Pendleton, the battalion is presently deployed to Afghanistan.
1/1 was formally Adopted by Newport Beach in 2003, and as they always do, the citizens of Newport Beach and surrounding communities turned out to support the Marines & Sailors of the battalion.
