Coro Duette Patents

Each Coro Duette or separable brooch had a uniquely shaped Duette frame made specifically to hold the two pin clips (or fur clips)in a fixed position so that together they could be worn as a brooch. When the duette frame becomes separated from the clips it is almost impossible to know what pin clips it belongs with and the duette is lost to jewellery collectors. Single duette clips can often be found but the value of a separated clip is far lower and less desirable than a fully assembled duette.

This web page is actively seeking photos of duettes with their corresponding frames to help dealers and collectors reunite the separated Duette segments. Please sign the guestbook if you have a photo to contribute.

i saw my first duette a few months ago now i am the owner of 2 but only 1 is a coro duette. im curious as what the r worth and a fair resale price? any ideas out there?
the numbers on this one are...on the pin frame is 1798867
on the clip it says 1852188

I believe I have the same duette as many of the folks who have added comments. Duette frame is 1852188, and pin is 1798867. Designer is Elisha Phinney, 1932. I can't find it illustrated anywhere, however, it is a coro duette. Very deco, with clear and aqua rhinestones.

I just purchased a set of Coro Duettes from a rummage sale today. Never seen anything like this before, which is why im just now lookin them up on the internet (which led me here). Theres one set of clips with a frame, a 2nd set of clips without a frame, and a bracelet (not sure if the bracelet is officially part of the set, but they sold is as such... no complaints here hehe...) Both sets of clips have the same patent number 1652188 (could also be 1852188, hard to tell what the 2nd number is). The frame has a dif patent number, but it definitely belongs to the one set of clips; they fit in it perfectly. The bottom half of that number is off the edge of the frame, so all i can make out is 17---67. The middle numbers are some combination of 8's or 9's. Not sure how much any of that matters, but anyway... i can email pics if anyone wants.

I have a coro duette fur clips similar to the comet #146 on your page, but it is entirely covered with rhinestones.

Hello. I was looking through the duettes on this site tonight, and I was delighted to see Patent #116478, No. 18. This duette was owned by my grandmother and was given to me several years ago by my aunt. I just love it. It is in perfect condition. Until tonight, I knew nothing about it.

hi, my mom found a pin at a sale and noticed the other day that it had coro duette on the back,with a patent number of 1798867 as well.was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the pin.date,designer ,if it is worth anything.

I forgot to mention the patent number of the pin. The clips are both Pat. No. 1852188 and it's matching pin back is Pat. No. 1798867.

I have a complete Coro Duette, gold colored with a white-gold colored swirl on each clip with rows of rhinestones. The Pat. No. is 1852188 (the first 8 could be a 3?), it is also signed (engraved) in script writing with "Coro Duette" on the pin back. I can send pics if you want.

I have a lovely Coro Duette Fur Clips patent number 1798867 I believe, in a pretty shade of aqua. I believe it is like your plates #148 and #149. Could you give me some idea what my set might be worth?

Thank you for your website. I finally found a picture of a Coro Duette I bought 7 years ago for 35 dollars at a vintage shop in St. Louis. It is the second from the left in picture 179. They are such a unique design. Thanks for all your research to put together such a great reference.
