I have Coro Craft design #133,743 Jeweled Beetle Brooch. Sept. 8, 1942. My Mother was the original owner. I've preserved it carefully.It has a faceted pink stone body. I would like to know is this a semi precious stone & if so, what type.
Also, I'm ready to let go of this very special brooch.
Could you tell me the approximate value ?
There's 8 tiny rhinestones missing from the legs & 4 from the upper body. A hairline crack at the very top of stone under center (wing?)almost hidden by sterling shoulder with rhinestones.
I've never seen anything similar. It's quite spectacular.

I have the same beetle pin, but mine has red eyes and blue and silver stones on the beetle. It also has the cotton inset for perfume to last on the brooch pin. I have asked many, many times about this brooch pin because I received it from my great grandmother. I simply want some information as to the date, the value, etc. If anyone knows of a jeweler who specializes in these types of pins, please let me know!

I have the bettle pin identical as the picture provided by Judi Bollan - same color of gems - green geems and red eyes but the color in the middle of the eyes is black. It has the word coro in script and the word PAT. Can you provide me information as to the year it was designed and by whom? I found it at an antique market.
