The end of the war marked the return of the rhinestone as a prevalent feature in Coro's jewelry designs and by the end of the 40s designs became markedly lighter and simpler in style.

Just as a matter of personal historical interest, I was hoping to locate online a design patent service that I had a part time job with a long time ago when I was attending Teachers College at Columbia. My work involved taking a piece of Coro jewelry and drawing and drawing an inked image of the piece to send to the patent office. The name of the company was Design Patent Service and the office was in a building in Herald Square across from Macys. In viewing some of the drawings of older pieces, I thought I might even find some that I recall drawing. The owner of the service was called Mr. Charles (I think it was his first name.) My interest may now be thought of as "Gone with the wind," how- ever, I have surprised myself with a few remote searches that got answers. I will a appreciate any possible leads you can give me. I do remember drawing a LOT of rhinestones! Thank you, Virginia Tooper - Virginia Tooper, Thu, 11 Oct 2007 4:09PM
