enlarge 62KB, 800x539 2 sm001 Elaine's 3rd birthday - Sept 1948. The 100 Springs Little Rascals: Front Row: Mike Snyder, Elaine, Sandy Stouffer, Jerry Stouffer. Back Row: Howard Gearhart, Bill.
enlarge 71KB, 800x599 3 sm020 Elaine, Mike & Sharon, and Sandy- Don't let Sandy's little doll fool you. She used to beat me up on a regular basis.
enlarge 71KB, 800x610 4 sm019 The Gang: Mike, Sandy, Sharon, Bill, and Elaine. This was probably 1950 and Mark would have been too young to be outside. The dog was Skippy- a one woman dog (Mom's). If Dad came home late, he wouldn't let him up the stairs until Mom said it was OK. Sandy's family had a dog, Scratch, that was one mean SOB, who used to terrify me.

enlarge 53KB, 544x800 6 sm018 Henry washing up the old Plymouth. Check out the running board. I remember fondly how the radiator would blow and dad would have to go looking for the cap.
enlarge 63KB, 548x800 7 sm007 Bill, Lorraine, and Elaine - I would guess that this was about 1947 or 1948.
enlarge 41KB, 584x800 8 sm014 That's me about 5 years old. The back of the photo has the caption "Bill at the Little Ferry". I have a vague recollection of it - I think it was the ferry across the Susquehanna River that we used on our way to and from NYC to visit Dorsey & Pop.
enlarge 70KB, 578x800 9 sm016 Bill on his 5th birthday: New cowboy duds and all. I think that's my old wagon behind my back. Our old playhouse was in the front yard for many years until it was moved up by the barn.
enlarge 66KB, 522x800 10 sm013 Bill, Mike, Elaine, and Dorsey - When Dorsey came to visit, us kids always had a good time.
enlarge 73KB, 800x570 11 sm008 Mike and Elaine cooling off on a hot summer's day. Running through the sprinkler was the favorite summer occupation.

enlarge 78KB, 581x800 13 sm012 Lorraine holding Mark. Bill, Elaine, and Mike - This has to be 1949. Enlarge the picture and check out Mike's Little Beaver tee shirt. And while we're on the subject, isn't that a very stylish tie. "What an awesome picture -- but who is Mike?

enlarge 73KB, 557x800 14 sm006 Back in my youth, I wanted to be a cowboy - I would listen to Gene Auntry and the Lone Ranger on the radio. Truth be told, I wouldn't mind being one today. "I can't tell you why, but I seem to remember you this..." "Wow. I thought for sure this was Greg when I saw it ..." View Comments...
enlarge 55KB, 593x800 15 sm017 Mark at Whipple's Dam: this is where we went countless times for picnics. A truly marvelous place.
enlarge 60KB, 566x800 16 sm002 No that's not Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb in those vintage baseball uniforms- Just Mike and Bill. I can still remember how scratchy and hot that old wool uniform was.
enlarge 127KB, 800x548 17 sm003 Mark on the road beside the dam. Mark is proudly displaying the old pump action .22 that got his brother in hot water after he tested it after fixing it by firing at the pump house. All the fire hoses in it were ruined.

enlarge 77KB, 800x546 20 sm023 Sharon, Mike, Bill, and Mark - This had to be the summer of 1952 - our 1951 Chevy is all bright and shiny. You can see the car up the road stopping at the watering trough for a cool drink of 100 Springs water.
enlarge 76KB, 800x604 21 sm022 Mike and Sharon Snyder - Our front door in the background. The fence was for our 2nd dog, Kimmy.
