Mmmm..... yogurt! Butterscotch loves the yogurt but doesn't much care for the raisin underneath.

Rat Carnage This used to be a new winter coat. It was hanging on the back of a chair that got left a little too close to the rat cage :(

More Rat Carnage This is the litter pan from the old cage. It didn't even last a month! The purple and zebra stripe pieces of fleece used to be a rat cozy that has now been chewed to shreds.

New Cage! 'The Rat Cabin (R-670)' 24" x 14" x 24"
The rats ate the tray of their old cage so we got a Martin's cage to replace it.

"Hey! Where's all our stuff?!"
Plastic Needlepoint Canvas We are trying out the canvas (held in place with cable ties) to cover the wire shelves as an alternative to the cloth diapers (which the rats either ate or rearranged constantly). Once they figure out how to get at the edges of this it may disappear quickly. But the good news is that it's only 39-cents a sheet!
"I wonder how quickly I can eat this stuff?!"
Hmmmm..... The newspaper shreds were the packing in the Martin's box. We decided to let the rats have some fun with them for a day or two.

That's more like it! A hammock, 2 PVC tubes, bird toy, food crock, ferret ball, cat toy, igloo, water bottle...
More toys! New Dearpie hammock, igloo, Leapin' Ledge, Bird toy and a 2nd crock.

Bathtime! The girls were NOT thrilled about having a bath, but they LOVED the rubdown in the towel afterwards.

"Hmmm...... what's out there?" The girls can get out of their playtub, but they are quite content to hang out and play in there as long as we're nearby (and there are plenty of boxes to explore).

Exploring their new cage Update - Jan. 7, 2005
This cage will be replaced by a Martin's cage in a few days. The girls have completely chewed up the plastic litter pan. The cage is now sitting in a coroplast box to keep the bedding (and the rats!) from getting out.

Grooming You have stop during playtime to do some grooming every so often... it's the rules!
