Erik was born here at Calico Run in June 2002. Due to his unique coloring at birth and beyond, a new color was accepted in the Rat Terrier breed by Universal Kennel Club International. That color is Red Fawn.
Erik left me suddenly in February 2004. At 14 1/2 lbs. with a temperment and conformation to match his beautiful color, Erik was the love of my life. He is missed beyond words.

At six months old, Erik showed the style and grace that perfectly expressed who he was and who he was becoming.
Always at attention - even when relaxing.
Even at dusk, those incredible eyes were undeniably piercing.
No flash reflection in those eyes.
Valentine's Day 2004. Snow in Austin. Erik was quite curious about the white stuff.
Just an awesome stance.
Such a happy fellow!
See my profile? What a wonderful boy.
No matter who was hanging around - in this case, Catherine - Erik had eyes only for me. "Aww ya'll know I'm a sucke..." View Comments...

This is Erik at 10 weeks old. Just goes to show that a pup with huge appearing ears can really grow into them!
