I have been looking and looking for info on Pools of Light jewelry. I have 3 necklaces, that I think are Lucite.  Yet they have the same qualities as the rock crystal.  They are clear as air and show objects upside down when looking through them. Why would they do the same as the crystal, is there a market for them?  One set has earrings that are marked Germany.  Could someone give/refer me to more information........I thank you in advance.

Is the Pools of light black and clear crystal necklace still available, if so, could you please quote me a price.  Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for posting your images.  I own one of these black & clear pools of light bracelets (mine has an extra bead but is otherwise exactly the same), and I'm trying to get more info on it.  I've been told the clear beads are rock crystal, but are the black ones glass? onyx? jet?  I've found some history on the web about the all-clear ones, but not these.  Any info would be very much appreciated.

Backs of pieces.  This is the first time I have found a Haskell bracelet with the pierced metal under the motif.  Usually these are wired directly to metal spacer bars.  The motif should be covered with a smooth metal plate--I have one in this exact size on a Haskell necklace.

Glasshouse Walk (formerly Glasshouse Street), just off the Albert Embankment, is now the only reminder of what was once an internationally important industry in Vauxhall. The map shows the location of Buckingham's glassworks in 1746, just north of Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.

Glass-making was first introduced to Britain by the Romans, who started blowing glass into moulds, thus allowing a wide variety of shapes to be made, including the first glass windows around 100 AD. Indeed, the Italians, and particularly the Venetians, remained pre-eminent in the glass industry for many hundreds of years.  The Venetians protected their technology very successfully, including when working abroad, and grew rich on its proceeds. But foreigners began to challenge Italian dominance through various innovations from the 1600s onwards.

In 1617, Sir Richard Mansel acquired the sole rights for making glass throughout the country. Most monopoly rights and patents lapsed during Oliver Cro...

My new storage cabinets.  Each has 14 drawers (2 inches high) and a bottom 5 inch high drawer.  Made by a garage cabinet maker.  Think 8 screws per drawer front times 45 drawers.... Ouch!

The far right cabinet is missing its top two drawers as the handles were stripped.  Replacements are on their way.

This lovely jewelry was given to me by a friend.  This is what he said about its provenance:

My mother in law's father, and his forefathers were all trusted aides of the royal family of Gwalior. This was one among many pieces of jewelry that the then Maharaja gifted to my mother in law's grandfather sometime in the late
1800s or early 1900s, in appreciation and recognition of a service of valor.

This is a very typical piece of jewelry of North India. It is worn on the nose and the short chain goes across the cheek and hooks up either to the ear our some part of the hair.

The uniqueness of the piece is that it has work on both sides - on one side it is enameled, while the other side has stone work.
