How We De-Worm Our Puppies
We use Worm Protector 2X (pyrantel pamoate), which is the generic version of Nemex II to deworm our puppies. Worm Protector 2X safely and effectivelly removes large roundworm and hookworms, and is FDA approved.
We do our best to ensure that our puppies are parasite free, beginning with before they are concieved. We deworm all of our adult dogs with Heartgard Plus every month, all 12 months of the year. By keeping our adult dogs worm-free, we prevent our puppies from ever contracting worms in the first place. Once a female we are planning to breed comes into season, we replace her monthly Heartgard deworming with Worm Protector 2X, since it is "puppy safe" even while the puppies are in utero!
We begin deworming our puppies at 2-weeks-old, and continue to deworm them every 2 weeks until they leave our home at 8-weeks-old. Once the puppies leave our home, we recommend that the new owners continue to deworm the puppies at least once a month. We also strongly recommend that the puppies begin a monthly heartworm prevention treatment (like Heartgard Plus) as soon as they are old enough. | Album by Danielle Atencio-Kupfer. 1 - 1 of 1 Total. 120 Visits. |
