Sales Contract We make every effort to ensure that our puppies are loved, well cared for, and living in permanent "forever homes" once they leave us.
Therefore, we usually do not sell our puppies to homes where they will be used for breeding, with very few exceptions. Most of our puppies will go to permanent, loving pet homes, which is perfectly fine with us! We do not expect a lot out of pet owners, only that the puppies are loved, and properly cared for and provided for, and that they are spayed or neutered before 6-months-old. If for some reason the new owners can no longer keep or properly care for the dog, we are ALWAYS willing to take the dog back no matter what the reason, or how much time has passed.
Below is a copy of the contract that we use for puppies that will go to PET HOMES. We have a seperate contract for show/breeding quality puppies that will go to SHOW/BREEDING HOMES. Email me at blazingsunratterriers@gmail.com for more information, or for a copy of our SHOW/BREEDING contract. |

How We Vaccinate Our Puppies We use Galaxy 6-Way Vaccination for our puppies. Puppies are given their first vaccination at 6-weeks of age, and again at 8-weeks of age before leaving our home.
The vaccination we use is a modified live virus vaccine for the vaccination of healthy dogs against canine distemper, adenovirus type 2, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus and canine coronavirus.
Label Details
High antigenic mass (titer), low passage parvovirus vaccine.
Canine vaccine containing parvovirus type 2b, the most prevalent field strain of parvovirus.
Canine parvovirus type 2b protects against all field strains currently seen.
Overrides maternal antibodies in young puppies.
Primary vaccination may begin as early as 6 weeks. Last dose may be given at 12 weeks of age.
No reversion to virulence.
Onderstepoort-type distemper strain, proven efficacious for over 50 years.
Lyophilized L. canicola and L. icterohaemorrhagiae provide broad protection with added stability and convenience.
Dosage and Administration
Inject one dose (1 mL) subcutaneously or intramuscularly. The initial dose may be given at 6 weeks of age or older. Repeat at 2 to 4 week intervals until the dog is 12 weeks of age. A minimum of two doses are required for primary immunization. Annual revaccination with one dose is recommended. |

How We De-Worm Our Puppies We use Worm Protector 2X (pyrantel pamoate), which is the generic version of Nemex II to deworm our puppies. Worm Protector 2X safely and effectivelly removes large roundworm and hookworms, and is FDA approved.
We do our best to ensure that our puppies are parasite free, beginning with before they are concieved. We deworm all of our adult dogs with Heartgard Plus every month, all 12 months of the year. By keeping our adult dogs worm-free, we prevent our puppies from ever contracting worms in the first place. Once a female we are planning to breed comes into season, we replace her monthly Heartgard deworming with Worm Protector 2X, since it is "puppy safe" even while the puppies are in utero!
We begin deworming our puppies at 2-weeks-old, and continue to deworm them every 2 weeks until they leave our home at 8-weeks-old. Once the puppies leave our home, we recommend that the new owners continue to deworm the puppies at least once a month. We also strongly recommend that the puppies begin a monthly heartworm prevention treatment (like Heartgard Plus) as soon as they are old enough. |

How We Microchip Our Puppies We permanently identify all of our adult dogs, and puppies from our kennel, with AVID Friend Chips.
How Do AVID Microchips Work?
AVID Friend Chips each contain a 9-digit number. A special scanner is used to send a radio signal through the skin of the animal to read the number on the chip. The animal feels nothing as the scanner is passed over him. The microchip sends it’s number back to the scanner, and the unique number appears in the scanner's viewing window.
The microchip has no power supply, battery, or moving parts. It is designed with an operating life of over 25 years and is guaranteed for the life of the animal. Once injected, the microchip is anchored in place as a thin layer of connective tissue forms around it. The chip requires no care. It does not pass through or out of the body.
Microchips operate by sending and receiving radiowave signals. Therefore they function at a particular frequency. In the United States the accepted and used radiowave frequency is 125 kHz. The chips most commonly used in the United States companion animal industry are AVID® and HomeAgain™. Shelters know and trust these microchip companies to provide fast recovery services for lost pets. It is EXTREMELY important that new owners have their puppy's chip registered to them through PETtrac.
