Blazing Sun Kennel is located in a small town in Northern Utah near the Idaho border. We started showing and breeding Rat Terriers in 2006, with the guidance of some wonderful and well established breeders, who were kind enough to take me under their wings.
Due to limited space, we cannot put enough emphasis of "QUALITY over QUANTITY" in our small program! Our dogs all have high percentages of Decker blood, ranging from 70% to 100%. With limited showing, our dogs have done well in UKC conformation events. Most of our breeding dogs will have UKC CH and GRCH conformation titles.
Our dogs come from some of the best Decker breeders in the USA. Our goal is to have dogs that are all fine examples of the breed standard. Outstanding conformation, good temperament, strong natural prey drive, and hunting ability are important to us.
Breeding genetically sound, healthy dogs is most important to us. Our Decker Rat Terriers will have OFA health clearances for heart, patellae, hips, and elbows; all of which will be done at the appropriate ages for testing. Because we care about the integrity of this wonderful breed, we will not breed within our kennel or to outside dogs before health testing and DNA profiling have been completed. We will not breed any dog that recieves less than a passing grade on any of it's health exams. Doing our best to keep these bloodlines clean and free from genetic defects is very important to us!
On rare occasion, we will have puppies available. Every puppy will come with a health record, registration papers, 5-generation pedigree, health guarantee and lifetime placement guarantee. Our puppies will come fully vaccinated, worm-free, and micro-chipped. Each puppy will come with free lifetime PETtrac micro-chip enrollment, which is pre-paid by us.
Pet puppies will be spayed/neutered by our vet before going to their new homes, no exceptions!
