The day was started with a trip to Caesarea, the ancient city built by Herod the Great. We were whisked away on a speed boat ride along the coastline to see the ancient ruins. You could make out the palace of Herod, the Hippodrome, an aqueduct, and the remains of a theater that is still used today!
Then, we headed to Tel Aviv for a little shopping excursion, since Will and I missed the Tel Aviv trip planned for later (after we came home), this was an added bonus. We stopped at a little bazaar filled with handmade goodies ranging from Judaica to Jewelry.
Happy Fourth of July! Even though we were in Israel, that didn't stop Will and I from going out for some blues and BBQ :-D Will and I headed out to Mike's Place for some good ole American grub and beer. It was quiet but fun, and the beer was good and cold. We finished our night with a shot of American whiskey and headed back to the hotel. Since no 4th is complete without Ice Cream, we found a vendor with these funny ice cream bars called Magnum. We couldn't help ourselves and took a photo.

21 It's so nice and cold! Not really, it was quite warm actually.
22 My Little Mermaid impression lol.
23 I cut my leg on a rock, I was washing it out with the water. The next day the Dead Sea took care of it pretty well (ouch!).

25 Is this guy nuts?! He's in the middle of the sea! Actually, he was fishing on what remains of Harod's lower section of his palace... it used to be a fresh water swimming pool over 2000 years ago. "That is friggin awesome!" View Comments...

87 The dogs of Caesarea. The brown one laid down right on Barbara's feet lol. It was only a minute before the black one decided he wanted belly rub too. "Doing their best impression of the &..." View Comments...

89 The black one wanted to show us around and hung with the group for a few minutes before going back to his owners.

133 This would have been the upper terrace. His lower terrace had a freshwater swimming pool where he would entertain and have his enemies drowned discreetly.
134 Awesome original mosaic from 2000 years ago!
