Meet sweet Miss Nirvana.

She is 8 years old. We are pretty confident of her age because when she first came to rescue 6 years ago, she had been an owner surrender and that owner let us know that she was 2 at the time. You can see pictures of Nirvana from 6 years ago by clicking here.

Nirvana was a pretty chunky gal, at 13.6 lbs., when she was surrendered. She has been on a diet so is slowly losing weight, with a goal of getting down to 12 lbs.

She likes to hang out in the kitchen, undoubtedly hoping for a handout, but she doesn't beg or make herself a pest about food and she takes treats gently.

She will got into a crate on her own to nap during the day and also to sleep at night.

She is normally very quiet and does not join in when the other dogs start barking.

She gets along sweetly with the other dogs in her foster home.

Evening TV time with foster daddy.

She likes to be near you but is not pesty for attention, and if other dogs or people are in the way, she is content to curl up on a dog bed on the floor insteaad.

Nirvana was recently diagnosed with Cushing's disease, which means she needs daily medicine to keep her cortisol (a hormone) at a normal level. She is quite happy about this because she gets her pill in a bit of cream cheese, and that is a yummy thing!

Cushing's disease can make a dog need to urinate frequently, but as long as we take her out every 3 hours or so, she does fine and does not have accidents in the house. And she sleeps through the night without having to go out.

Would this peaceful, serene, sweet girl be a good addition to your loving home?
