Meet Laurel!
Enlarge photo 22
Laurel is thought to be about 5 years old.
Enlarge photo 33
She weighs 17 lbs.
Enlarge photo 44
In general she is a quiet, low-key, easy-to-care for girl.
Enlarge photo 55
But she is also an alert watch dog, and she will bark to let you know that strangers are approaching the house or at the door.
Enlarge photo 66
Once she has accepted that the "intruder" is a welcome visitor to the home, then she is friendly and polite.

"Do you want to play tug with me?"
Enlarge photo 88
Not much traction on the slippery floor.
Enlarge photo 99
If no one else wants to play, she is content to just play by herself.

"Well, they ARE toys, you know!"
Enlarge photo 1111
While she does enjoy her toys from time to time, she really isn't overly active and does settle down quickly.
Enlarge photo 1212
Most of the time she is happy just to relax and snooze.
Enlarge photo 1313
She'll go outside to do her business, but doesn't run around too much out there. She will stand and observe and occasionally sunbathe on a warm day, but mostly she prefers being indoors.

We went on a camping trip and Laurel did great. She accepted the novelty of sleeping in camper, eating outdoors, sitting around a campfire, and having to be on-leash the whole time without any problems.

As long as she was with "her" people, she was happy.
Enlarge photo 1616
Patiently hopeful that treats are forthcoming!
Enlarge photo 1717
Tail wagging so fast it is all but invisible.
Enlarge photo 1818
"If I look cute enough he might share with me."

Ready for some action!
