Range dial graduated 0-3,000 yards in 20 yard divisions.  Sight is zeroed on rifle at 500 yards, using bisecting technique of service rifle sight and reticule cross hairs of musket sight.

Individual graduations on drift dial equal 1" change on target at 100 yards (1 MoA).  There are 38 points left and 46 points right of drift correction.

Eyepiece is completely dried out and brittle due to age.  Three holes were originally punched in rubber eye piece to alleviate suction problems, due to tight 1 1/2" eye relief.

The Plate scale is merely the drift of the bullet due to precession. The shooter would have to dial in a correcting windage (to the right IIRC) in addition to whatever actual wind drift was expected. Kind thoughts on the part of W&S to include such info! (Feedback by jmoore)
