What was advertised in eBay ad (see black/white pictures below)
"RIFLE GRENADE 30 GEWEHRSPRENGGRANATE 1944 K 98 HE NAVY
You're bidding on a mint 100% not repainted german HE 30 Gewehrsprenggranate made in 1944 with a fixed solid base. It comes with near 50% original colour. All parts are in near mint condition. This HE Rifle Grenade uses the same 30mm diameter as the caliber of the Schiessbecher rifle grenade luncher . The steel fuze and body with a Bakelite driving band base matched to the rifling. It used the AZ5071 PD fuze with an internal set-back safety. The design was successful due its adapability. As increased explosive power became a necessity, to keep up with the rapidly increasing armor threat, oversized warheads were designed which extended beyond the muzzle. This rifle grenade is one of the last types o Rifle Only, no self destruct, fixed base (the last type) and comes with a producer marked fuze. It's more than nice."
Seller originally claimed in email responses, that the item was shipped on or before May 9th. In fact, German postal information shows he never shipped the item to the German Post Office until May 17th, as shown in the on-line tracking information. By accident or design and with the seller providing false information about the date shipped, this caused the buyer to launch a PayPal challenge, as PayPal's guarantee expires within 30 days of any sale.
When item finally arrived on June 13th, it was NOT the same item the seller Rabeemil advertised and pictured on eBay. The item that Rabeemil shipped looks more like a cheap old relic dug up out of the ground than the item he actually advertised, which has much greater value. Seller shipped an inferior item that doesn't even match the manufacturer of the original item he advertised. Just looking at the pics of what was received, does anyone honestly believe this is a mint 100% not repainted german HE 30 Gewehrsprenggranate made in 1944?
In addition and in a strange additional twist, the seller has subsequently removed on-line eBay pictures of item advertised, but not pictures of other items he is selling. Fortunately, as a buyer, we had "saved" the pictures he was using for this item in his on-line eBay auction.
For ease of comparison, we've displayed in "Black/White", the pictures of the item as he advertised it on eBay, using "Color" pictures to contrast the differences in the item he actually shipped.
