Band and bandspring.  This rifle has a milled bandspring, likely a refurb replacement.  Originally M1903A3's had stamped band springs.

Nosecap and muzzle area.  Note the stamped stacking swivel and the stamped and folded front sight cover.the nosecap is also manufactured from a stamping, as is the front band.

note the trigger guard made of stamped and welded sheet steel to speed production.  The floorplate is not removable. This is a second pattern assembly with the enlarged front end of the trigger guard for use with gloves.

Note the inspector's stamps just forward of the trigger guard.  On this stock they are illegible, but generally the consist of geometric shapes with letters inside them.

Note the magazine cutoff is set to the "on" position, allowing access to the 5 rounds in the magazine.  Also note the peep sight unique to the M1903A3 version of the Springfield rifle.

Note the FJA (Frank J. Atwood) inspector's stamp and the faint ordnance wheel cartouche on this stock.  They are faint from the stock having been scraped at the arsenal at some point.
