Farpoint 2009 (February 17, 2009)Bonnie and I once more trekked down to Maryland for Farpoint but this time Will and Kris came with us. Now at a new hotel it led to similar experience with better results.
It was great hangin out with Dion, Tanya, Anna-lisa, Cyn, Dan, Adam and all the rest.
I won 2nd place in the unforms catagory at the masquerade but Kris stole the show as she was awarded Best workmanship, 1st place in sci-fi and best in show.
Bonnie took some great pics and made some new friends with the convention staff.
Other than the bad karaoke that kept us up til 3am on Friday it was a blast |

Kris and Will stayed over and we picked up Ed in the morning and got there by the officially start. It was raining that morning but it gave way so only the ground was muddy.
This event is always blast and we had a great turn out of people and Garrison members. This is a NER event we love to do. |

ShoreLeave 07 (July 16, 2007)Our first year at ShoreLeave. Three and a half hours down to Baltimore to the Hunt's Valley Inn but worth it.
It was a great con. Bonnie and I got a chance to hang out and let loose. Bonnie had a great time as her Hogwart's Uniform got at least a hundred complements.
We met up with Tanya, Dion, and Cynthia, whom we had a small cook out with in the hotel parking lot. We also got to met a new friend AnnaLisa, it was her first con.
Over all it was great and we look forward to attending this con again. |

Icon 2007 (March 25, 2007)Once more to Stonybrook Long island we go for the 2007 Icon Scifi Convention.
THe 501st / Rebel Legion had a table ready and hosted 2 panels. The room was full of people interested in the 501st and Rebel Legion.
We received a really cool drawing from a fan of the 501st. We also enjoyed watching the Dragon Dance and Shaolin Kung Fu expo which took place outside and inside the con.
Shih-Fu Gregg Zilb pushed back four spears with his own body while having boards broken over his arms. It was quite a sight.
We also had the honor of inducting Tory and Kari from the "Mythbusters" into the Legion. Tory with honorary membership and Kari as "Friend of the Legion".
Hope next year's icon is just as fun. |

Bonnie and I became honorary greeters as the garrison collected money at the front of the store.
Bonnie had a great time as she scared a little kid to tears but that only one time LOL.
The NER raised over $400 and had a blast doing it. We hope to be back soon. |

Rose Parade 2007 (January 1, 2007)The 501st were invited to the 2007 Rose Parade in California.
Representing the NER at the Rose parade wasn't easy. A long flight out to LA and four days of boot breaking training. It was mostly Blood, sweat, and tears with a lot of laughs and jokes along the way.
We marched for roughly 6 miles in front of a million people and were seen on TV by over 33 million.
Would I do it again...Darn Right I would.
I met a lot of great people and had a great time. It was a life changing experiance. A once in a life time experiance.

Walk for a Brighter Tomorrow 2006 (October 15, 2006)We traveled to Verona again for the Walk for a Brighter Tomorrow
This Walk is run by The Family Resource Network which is comprised of four affiliate organizations: Autism Family Services of New Jersey, Caregivers of New Jersey, the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey, and the Family Support Center of New Jersey.
Well, it was a cold start as in "see your own breath" cold. We met up with RJ and Jeff before most of the walking teams showed up and tried to warm up but it was very brisk outside. After attempting to warm up we strode around the park and stopped for a few pics with other waliking teams.
Bob and James from the ECG arrived and we proceeded to greet the walkers as they made their laps around the park.
The event went well as more walkers and their families arrived. The sun was with us and we returned the warmth to the people who came out to walk for a good cause. |

Firstly the kids and the Toys R Us staff were very happy with the array of costumes we had.
The NER and NEG had a Dance dance revolution match with the NEG winning, But we will see about next year LOL :)
It was a great event and hopefully we will be invited again for next year |

The weather was very warm (83 degrees :P )and the sun was out.
RJ made the arrangements and we got the banner and table ready. Lance doned his Vader and Jessica her Mara Jade as Matty and Felia brought out Chewie, RJ suited up in his TK and Pete got his Boba Fett. Lance's son brought his Snow Trooper and his cousin had his Biker Scout. Bonnie had her Imperial gunner and Dion and I both wore our Tusken Raiders.
The kids loved us as well as the parents, the Make A Wish team were so happy we helped to brighten the day and bring smiles to so many faces.
It was a great event even if it was very hot out. |

Icon 2006 (March 27, 2006)We made the Trek up to Stonybrook this year and Bonnie and I were not ready to have so many people wanting our picture...it was great :)
Turns out that Satuday there wasn't a large Imperial presence as most of the NER were all Star gated up. The cosplayers loved our costumes.
We had a great time hanging out with our friends and got to see Marc Singer (Beast Master) again and had the chance to meet George "Capt. Sulu" Takai.
Can't wait til next year. :) |

Chiller Oct 2005 (October 28, 2005)Chiller happened to fall on Bonnie's 30th Birthday. Rich and Tara were kind enough to get Bonnie a Cake and I was kind enough to keep it a secret. Bonnie had no idea what was instore for her.
Bonnie was mistaken for being a 12 year old as she sported her Hogwarts school uniform at the event. Every one had a great time. It was also the NER's second anniversary.
Only bad part was the 4 hour line at the autograph tent.
We also got to meet Warwick Davis (Willow/ Wickett the ewok) |

Big Apple Con Nov 2005 (November 21, 2005)Bonnie and I were called out for another Rebel Legion Event, BIG APPLE CON!!!! We are so glad we went.
The Con was good, once we found out where we were supposed to be, yeah it was a bit unorganized...Oh well.
We had the pleasure of meeting Ray Park (Darth Maul), Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan from Harry Potter ) Matthew Lewis ( Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia herself).
We unfortunately could not get a pic with Carrie but just getting a chance to meet her and say thank you was good enough, well that and scoring her autograph and hearing her say how good all our costumes were. :)
The Rebel Legion and 501st once again square off in NYC...Fun was had by all. |

Empire Fan Fest (April 19, 2004)Empire Fan Fest was great, Bonnie & I worked most of the Con on Saturday but it all paid off. I mean it's always great hanging out with the NER and 501st, but this time there was a real sense of brotherhood. We spent time posing for pics as well as taking a few ourselves. Meeting Michael Sheard & Ken Colley was fun, They really enjoy their fans and are great people. Seeing Jeremy Bulloch and his wife, Maureen is always a pleasure.
Special Thanks to The NorthEast Remnant, 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, New Jersey Order, and The Mos Eisley Port Authority
So I'm a Fanboy, If you don't like it... Tough!! Let's get to the pics. |
