Prior to 2005, this was a honorary title given to the winner of the Best of Breed at our National Specialty. In 2005, UKC approved our request and allows this win to be an official UKC title and presents a certificate to the winner. |

Top Ten 2001 (January 9, 2009)2001 was the first year that Rat Terriers participated in the UKC Top Ten competition. This album contains those dogs who earned the prestigious honor of placing in UKC's Top Ten for 2001.
To earn a placement in Top Ten, you must win the Best of Breed over alteast one other dog of your breed, you earn a point for each dog you place over, and all points are accumulated. The Top Ten dogs of each breed then earn a placement in Top Ten.
Those 10 dogs then compete to earn Best of Breed Top Ten and the reserve winner earns the titile of Award of Excellence. |
