Eyes Wide Open
An exhibit on the human cost of the Iraq war put together by the American Friends Service Committee with the help of many people and organizations. This exhibit has been touring the country. These photos and videos were taken in the San Francisco Civic Center Plaza on 3/25 & 26/05.
The exhibit is a field of empty boots - one for each US soldier killed in Iraq, as well as some representational civilian shoes to momorialize Iraqi's killed.
This gallery contains pictures and videos. look around for both...
The videos include some speeches of family members of dead soldiers. Moving stuff.
Videos are in Windows Media Format (wmv). if you would like to see the FEATURE VIDEO in Real Player format (rm) go here: feature_video.rm

I'll be updating information and media fairly often til i get it right.

A magnificent job! And may we all tell our friends and families about this way of visiting the Exhibit, hearing the speakers, and reading the facts about the crazy war that is robbing us blind. Let's bring these troops home, close our 14 bases in Iraq, and stop wasting oil with gas-guzzling vehicles. And then help UN and others, especially Iraqis, rebuild the country we have ravaged. - Bob Forsberg, Tue, 5 Apr 2005 8:00PM |
