INTER CITY HELICOPTER (updated nov, 2009)UTAir SL/INTER CITY HELICOPTER SERVICES a UTAIR subsidiary, began commercial flights in Sierra Leone, March 2007 replacing Paramount Airlines.
As INTER CITY AIRLINES (SL)L.T.D they successfully passed an international audit to ICAO standards. In Sierra Leone, UTAIR operates four Mi-8 helicopters, with two being used under UN aegis and the others under commercial contracts with INTER CITY AIRLINES LTD. The helicopters are employed in both passenger and cargo shipments. UTAIR SOUTH AFRICA is incharge of maintaining the helicopter fleet. At present, UTAIR operates 60 helicopters under export contracts in various parts of the globe, from North America to South Africa.
The fleet is S.L. is an updated Mi8 craft with a capacity to carry 22 passengers.

SOLLUESHING - DIAMOND HOVERCRAFT SERVICE (updated, November 2009)-- CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE ---
The hovercraft stopped service back in October 08, breaking a 5 month stretch running successfully under new management and boasting of 2 'new' engines. It provides an efficient crossing to Aberdeen. Shuttle service available from Lungi Airport to Hovercraft launching station (approximately 2miles from the Airport and quite bumpy).
The crossing to Aberdeen (adjacent to Mammy Yoko hotel )is about 15-20mins.

Ferry Services (November 2009)The ferry system still provides an economical transfer to Freetown. MAZUK, MAHERA, GREAT SCARCIES have an updated schedule that meets the needs of most inbound/outbound flights.
Although quite slow, if done during the day, it provides a picturesque way of making the short crossing to the Freetown mainland. Crossing time about 40min.
Fees: First class lounge (per passenger) is LE5000 plus fee for Vehicles. Le 35000 each way for trucks Le 25000 each way for cars.
PRIVATE VEHICLE via FERRY to the mainland is just $95 door-door. When more that 2 passengers, please take luggage size & amount into consideration.
