WELCOME TO 10KITTY FARM!

TALULA and LEROY'S LITTER BORN JUN 28

last update June 28, 2009

10Kitty Farm, LLC is located in beautiful southern Colorado. The open land here is still used to free range cattle. We left Denver in '98 to fulfill a life long dream of country living. I was raised in the country on a farm and I'm excited about returning to the country. We started collecting our little menagerie shortly after moving here. We have always had pets in our home. We now have horses, Nigerian Dwarf and Nubian goats, assorted free range chickens/roosters, ducks, geese, a turkey (that thinks he's a rooster!), our dogs and of course some cats! What is a farm without a barn cat or two or three or.... Most of our cats were rescued from desperate situations. We have 40 acres that is used for the enjoyment of our extended family. We believe it is a wonderful place to live for us and our animals.

When we decided to breed/raise rat terriers and nigerian dwarves great care and a lot of thought went into selecting the right bloodlines to continue to improve our breeding program. We will be breeding for conformation, temperament and health. We will not be breeding for quantity so only occasionally we will have pups/kids available for sale. You may need to check back with us if nothing is available the first time you visit our site. So be sure to add our website to your favorites. We reserve the right to keep any puppy/kid for our farm.

Thank you for visiting our farm's website. Our animals are an asset to our lives and when you buy from us we want them to be the same for you. If you have any questions please feel free to email or call us. We can ship your puppy and/or kid anywhere in the US. The price for shipping 2 pups/kids is the same as the price for 1 except you pay for the extra vet costs. Because of rising costs the normal fee is $300. The cost depends on vet certifications needed, size of carrier, airline used (we prefer Continental because of the climate controlled pet area) etc. We do what we can to try to keep the cost down.

I don’t know who the author is but this was sent to me by a friend and this is to all of you that had to ask: WHY?

 If I didn’t have animals

I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety. My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated. All the flat surfaces, clothing, furniture and cars would be free of hair. When the doorbell rings, it wouldn’t sound like a kennel. When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there. I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable. I would not have strange presents under my Christmas tree--dog bones, stuffed animals, toys, treats nor would I have to explain to people why I wrap them. I would have money…and no guilt to go on a real vacation. I would not be on a first-name basis with 6 veterinarians, as I put their yet unborn grandkids through college. The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay and leave him/her/it ALONE! My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers. My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere. My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats and an extra leash. I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L, F-R-I-S-B-E-E, W-A-L-K,, T-R-E-A-T, B-I-K-E or C-A-R. I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside. I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much. I’d look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading “mud” season. I would not have to answer the question “Why do you have so many animals?” from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get. How empty my life would be.

Happy Trails! Or is that Tails! Or Both!

Rat Terriers
2. Rat Terriers  (February 13, 2007)
Our rat terriers have been handpicked for quality bloodlines.  Most of our bloodlines can be viewed for each rattie by going into the pedigree for that particular dog.  Our dogs are fed an ultra premium food, Taste of the Wild and Nature's Recipe, that meets AAFCO levels for nutrition (this is NOT a recommendation, just a fact).  I also cook for my ratties.  A happy healthy animal begins with good nutrition.  Our pups will have age appropriate inoculation, worming, tails docked and dew claws removed.  We do NOT do kennels with our dogs.  Our ratties are first and foremost our pets/companions.  They are in their dog house (see picture under "fun photos") at night to sleep and are out to run and play on the entire property all day every day.  We usually have 3-4 ratties that sleep with us and they all get their turn.  We are not "proud" of our kennels because we do not have them.  I work at home so our rattie kids are able to play all day right along beside me and some even assist me in my chores!  It's important that your rattie be a part of your family.  Ratties will not be happy if left alone without attention and love.  Ratties dearly love to share your life, home and bed.  They are excellent foot warmers!  Rat Terriers are very adaptable.  They can be jogging with you one minute and sleeping in your lap while you watch TV the next.  Just remember though they are a commitment and are very devoted to their family.  Do NOT get a puppy on an impulse.  Think long and hard before getting any dog.
OUR GUYS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR STUD SERVICE.

My favorite pets for all to see

is Pudge, Mya, Bow and Nellie.

They are so sweet not sour

I want to play with them every hour.

Every day I miss them so much

and I want to be with them such.

We have such fun all the time

I know they'll never commit a crime.
Poem written by 9 yr old Neylen, proud owner of two 10Kitty ratties, Pudge and Nellie.

Nigerian Dwarf Goats
8. Nigerian Dwarf Goats  (February 25, 2007)
Our Nigerian Dwarf pedigrees include Lost Valley, Piddlin Acres, Flat Rocks, Twin Creeks,  Prairie Wood and all the premier breeders that make up those lines.  Some of our Nigerians even have blue eyes.  All of our Nigerians come from disease free herds and because of concerns with goat illness's we have a closed herd.  For the same reason we are unable to lease out or offer on site breeding services.  The health of our animals are our prime concern.  Our kids are inoculated with 2 CD/T and goat serum, wormed and disbudded before going to a new home at 8 weeks.  If the kid is bottled fed they can leave at 2 weeks to continue bottle feeding at your home.  They can not be shipped at that age.  They must be picked up at the farm.  If you'd like to be put on our waiting list for a kid please email us 10KittyFarm@ghvalley.net.  A non-refundable deposit of $100 will be required to hold your kid once you have made your choice.  Personal checks are accepted for deposit only.  The balance must be paid by USPS money order or through pay pal or cash before the kid leaves the farm.  If for some reason we are unable to sell you the kid of your choice your deposit will be refunded.  We will need to receive your deposit within 7 business days from the date you notify us of your choice.  If your deposit is not received the kid will be put back up for sale to the public.  If your kid is not picked up on the specified date you will be charged a $2 a day boarding fee.  We reserve the right to keep any kid for our herd.
