The San Rafael Reef from Utah Highway 24 between Green River and Hanksville.  This is a very isolated and desolate area.  Sue and I traveled on this road on our way to California in 1965. We had a flat tire along this stretch and we had to buy a tire in Hanksville.  Even with inflation, it is still one of the most expensive tires we ever bought.

Lake Powell - because of a mutli-year drought, the water level is way down.  Just beyond the turnout, the road swings around an arm of the lake.  In 2000, there were a lot of campers there useing the many boat launches.  In 2006, this arm is completely dried up and the campgrounds abandoned.

Looking down Collins Canyon from the trailhead parking lot.  Yes, this is my Corolla (at the left).  It made it down the road without bottoming out too many times, although I had everybody get out a few times at the rougher spots.
